CCA accepts applications from youth 17-21 years of age who reside within the City of Chicago. All applicants must have graduated from the 8th grade and must be able to complete high school requirements by the age of 21. If a student turns 21 during the school year, he/she may remain active that year only.
CCA has a multi-step admission process which includes a lottery to ensure the student and the school are a good match. CCA Academy uses the Youth Connection Charter School (YCCS) Web Lottery to document the application process. Lottery dates will be publically announced. All lotteries will be witnessed by an independent third party. Selected applicants will be notified by mail.

Step 1: Lottery Application
Students interested in enrolling in CCA must complete the YCCS lottery application form and indicate CCA as their campus of preference. Students may visit the school in person or complete the application online at www.applytoyccs.com. To apply:
1. Visit www.applytoyccs.com
2. Select “Register”
3. Enter Date of Birth
4. Select “Calculate Age”
5. Create User ID and Password
6. Enter e-mail address
7. Enter security question and answer
8. Click “Create User”
9. Complete Application Form
10. Click “Submit”
11. Review/Print Confirmation Page
Applicants must realize that the application is for entrance into the lottery and does not guarantee enrollment into the school.
Step 2. Lottery Conducted-Pre-Enrollment and Screening
Selected applicants from the lottery will be notified and must provide the following documentation by a designated date in order to complete the enrollment application: release form from previous school, transcript, birth certificate, social security card, proof of address, proof of income, current school physical, immunization records.
Selected applicants will also be scheduled to take screening exams to determine their skill level and class placement.
